Dr. Thibault is dedicated to improving the efficiency and trustworthiness of scientific research. His efforts center on developing and evaluating interventions to achieve these goals. Specific topics include research workflows, preregistration, statistical practice, and open science.
Dr. Thibault completed a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience at McGill University. His doctoral research focused on brain imaging, neurofeedback, placebos, and experimental design. His book Casting Light on The Dark Side of Brain Imaging, co-edited with Dr. Amir Raz, explores their findings.
He previously conducted research at the Meta-Research Innovation Center at Stanford University (METRICS) and the University of Bristol, where he published several articles on how to improve scientific research. In his spare time, he enjoys rock climbing.
